In cooperation with President Theodore Roosevelt, the $10 Gold Indian was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. President Roosevelt suggested the iconic headdress atop the regal head of Lady Liberty on the obverse. She is encircled by 13 stars and the word “Liberty” on her hair band. These beautiful specimens were minted 1908-1933.
